Will Your Next Car Be an Electric Vehicle?
Electric vehicles have everyone buzzing ... is gasoline about to be a thing of the past?
Time & Location
Jun 08, 5:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Cornelius, 10308 Bailey Rd Unit 416, Cornelius, NC 28031, USA
About the event
In the year 2000, most cameras still used Kodak film. By 2005, digital cameras had put the once-dominant manufacturer on a course to bankruptcy. Might we see the same rapid transition from gasoline to electric vehicles (EVs)? Everyone from the US military to Elon Musk is trying to answer that trillion dollar question.
On the one hand, EVs are largely immune to surges in gasoline prices. They also have far fewer moving parts & fluids, meaning they should have significantly longer lives than their combustion engine counterparts.
On the other hand, batteries have gotten more expensive, supply chains need to mature, and the minerals market needs to exponentially expand to meet projected needs. Are we just trading pricey oil for expensive lithium?
